3 STEPS THAT WILL HELP YOU BEAT BLOATING, FROM A PHYSIOLOGIST WHO HAS ALREADY BEATEN IT.

3 Steps that will help you beat bloating (from a physiologist who has already beaten it)

What causes bloating?

  • Poor digestion of food.
  • Difficult to digest foods.
  • Stress.

Bloating can be surprisingly simple to address, when you know the hacks.

We won't discuss any boring fixes that you've already considered like chewing your food better - that's obvious.

I'll share with you the 3 most important variables you can manipulate in order to get a better result, fast.

1. Eat easy to digest, lowish fibre foods.

Salad is literally called "roughage." It's hard to digest.

Does that make it bad for you? Of course not. Nevertheless, you'll bloat from too much of it.

Raw vegetables, beans, legumes and seeds are difficult to digest high in the stomach: they end up being food for your gut bacteria.

How do gut bacteria digest food stuffs? They ferment them. This creates gas, and bloating.

RAW VEGETABLES, BEANS, LEGUMES & SEEDS ARE HARD TO DIGEST AND WILL CAUSE GAS.

2. Poor digestion of food.

Some foods that aren't particularly hard to digest for a correctly functioning gut, end up causing problems.

These foods are largely problematic because of some of the types of carbohydrates contained within them (FODMAPs).

It's really not the fault of the humble FODMAP.

Rather, it's the fault of your inflamed, poorly functioning small intestine.

Clear up the inflammation and improve the function of your gut and body overall, and you're very likely to find FODMAPs stop causing you issues.

You can clear up inflammation and improve function by addressing point 1 in this post, and:

  • Committing to healing your small intestine by using pro-gut proteins like collagen, gelatin, and liver.
  • Eating simple, traditional food, as regularly as you need to in order to make better decisions about your food.
  • Using less caffeine and sleeping better
  • Getting some sunshine, exercise, and nature.

HEAL THE SMALL INTESTINE & YOUR FOOD SENSITIVITY & DIGESTION WILL IMPROVE TREMENDOUSLY

3. Stress.

Stress, both physical and mental, lowers the functional ability of your body.

This manifests largely in a reduction in normal energy metabolism.

When the metabolism is lowered, and stress is increased, blood flow, energy and resources are directed away from the gut, and towards other more important places in times of stress, like the brain, and muscles.

This "cause" results in the "effect" of reduced digestive ability. So, foods that used to be digested easily, now cause you to bloat.

In other words, you're unable to "get away with it" anymore.

Fixing stress is about slowly but surely, calming your lifestyle down, getting off low calorie fad diets and crazy exercise regimens, and surrendering to the fact, that your body needs energy, rest, protein, vitamins and minerals in order to heal, recover and function at it's best.

STRESS IS A MISMATCH BETWEEN THE DEMAND YOU'RE PLACING ON YOUR BODY, COMPARED TO WHAT IT'S CAPABLE OF DOING. LOWER THE DEMAND, INCREASE PRO-GUT PROTEINS, NUTRITIOUS FOOD, AND RECOVERY.

We always recommend the GUT FOUNDATIONS stack to anyone struggling with bloating, stemming from these problems. Coming from someone who was hospitalised twice with bloating, the stack is simple and effect place to begin your own healing journey.
