There are every day habits that you can integrate into your day that will make a dramatic difference to your gut health and function. Here are the 5 that we've seen work for thousands of people, fast.


1. Eat foods that are easy to digest.


If your gut is struggling to function well, why not make it easier for your gut? Weirdly enough, this advice flies in the face of what is commonly believed to be beneficial to the gut.

Beans, legumes, seeds, nuts, oats and fibrous vegetables are some of the most difficult to digest foods on the planet. Cut these foods out and you'll experience an immediate improvement in your gut function.

 

 

 HABIT 1: EAT EASILY DIGESTIBLE, WELL COOKED/PREPPED FOOD

2. Remove industrial additives.

Cheap filler ingredients like thickeners, sweeteners, emulsifiers and preservatives injure the mucosal lining of the gut, allowing inflammation and bacterial infections to occur. Additives, such as maltodextrin and carrageenan are used in almost all foods in packages and have multiple studies that implicate their causal role in gut health disturbances.

3. Cut out vegetable oil.

Vegetable oils are highly toxic and cause inflammation.  Sufferers of poor gut health are likely to already be suffering from intestinal inflammation.  Replacing vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower, soy and corn oil with more stable, less inflammatory oils like extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, ghee and cold pressed avocado oil will reduce your inflammatory load, and help the structures inside your gut start to recover and heal.
