5 Easy Habits To Get Your Gut Back To Normal Faster
There are every day habits that you can integrate into your day that will make a dramatic difference to your gut health and function. Here are the 5 that we've seen work for thousands of people, fast.
1. Eat foods that are easy to digest.
If your gut is struggling to function well, why not make it easier for your gut? Weirdly enough, this advice flies in the face of what is commonly believed to be beneficial to the gut.
Beans, legumes, seeds, nuts, oats and fibrous vegetables are some of the most difficult to digest foods on the planet. Cut these foods out and you'll experience an immediate improvement in your gut function.
HABIT 1: EAT EASILY DIGESTIBLE, WELL COOKED/PREPPED FOOD
2. Remove industrial additives.
Cheap filler ingredients like thickeners, sweeteners, emulsifiers and preservatives injure the mucosal lining of the gut, allowing inflammation and bacterial infections to occur. Additives, such as maltodextrin and carrageenan are used in almost all foods in packages and have multiple studies that implicate their causal role in gut health disturbances.
HABIT 2: DON'T EAT FOODS WITH ANY INGREDIENT YOU DON'T RECOGNISE IN THEM
3. Cut out vegetable oil.
Vegetable oils are highly toxic and cause inflammation. Sufferers of poor gut health are likely to already be suffering from intestinal inflammation. Replacing vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower, soy and corn oil with more stable, less inflammatory oils like extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, ghee and cold pressed avocado oil will reduce your inflammatory load, and help the structures inside your gut start to recover and heal.
HABIT 3: CUT OUT VEGETABLE OILS
4. Eat organs for ultra-high doses of pro-gut vitamins
Liver is one of the highest nutrient dense foods on Earth - and unfortunately, we don't eat it anymore. Liver are highly beneficial for people with gut health problems for a host of reasons, notably:
- It's role in improving the metabolism (pro-thyroid effect from Vitamin A)
- It's influence on improved energy and liver function
- It's interplay between the gut bacteria and the immune system - liver helps regulate immune (and auto-immune) responses - hugely important!
HABIT 4: EAT SPECIAL FOODS LIKE LIVER & OYSTERS
The specific protein building blocks in collagen and gelatin are incredibly restorative to all structures in your body - especially the gut, skin, joints and bones.
If your gut health is poor, it's a great idea to provide your body with the raw materials it needs rebuild.
HABIT 5: EAT SPECIAL PROTEINS LIKE COLLAGEN & GELATIN
Is there anyone these days who doesn't need a hand with their gut health?
We began My Way Up after our own battles with IBS and autoimmune problems. Even with a degree in physiology and nutrition, we were still confused as to how to best address and fix our gut health.
After learning a method pioneered by Nobel prize winning PHDs and lifelong gut health researchers, we fixed our own gut health problems and we began our mission to create simple, "timeless" nutritional products for people with gut problems, and share what we've learned.
Thousands of people are on the MY WAY UP journey to better gut health.
My Way Up products are tailor-made for people who have experienced the pain of gut health problems - who don't have a lot of time.
We have ten's of thousands of hours of face-to-face experience working with clients and solving health problems.
