3 simple hacks to increase vitamin + mineral absorption for faster gut healing.

Written by Steve Collins on June 08, 2022

Getting more "nutrition" (vitamins + minerals + other plant nutrients) in your diet is an important part of the healing and recovery process for your gut.

1. Include fat when consuming animal products.

Quality animal foods are packed with fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K). These vitamins are stored in an animals fat tissue, and liver.

Therefore, including some of the fat in fish, meat, eggs or dairy will expose you to greater amount of these vitamins in highly absorbable forms.

Fat soluble vitamins will absorb also better when fat is consumed with them. For example, the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in spinach absorb better when dietary fat is available.

If you're taking our Organic Liver multivitamin capsules, a great time to take them is with your morning milky coffee.

2. An inflammation-free small intestine.

Most of your food gets absorbed into your body in the small intestine.

It also has the busiest workload or just about any organ in your body (hence, it gets completely replaced every 5 days!).

Be kind to your small intestine. Don't eat industrial additives when possible, use collagen, liver and gelatin as tools in your diet to help reduce inflammation and improve healing times. Cook your vegetables rather than eat them raw, and avoid more than a glass of alcohol at any one time.

3. Plants don't like to be eaten, too.

Plants contain chemicals that exert influence on living things. Think about how often plants need to repel bacterial, insect and small animal attacks - really often.

One type of plant chemical that exhibits an effect on humans are phytates.  Phytates are found in whole grains, seeds, legumes and some nuts.

Phytates impair the absorption of iron, zinc and calcium. So long as you're eating a quality diet, you'll be fine. However, if you're eating a highly processed diet, you may want to consider adding more nutrient dense foods like fruits, liver, shellfish, animal proteins and fats, and honey into your diet.

You can reduce plant toxicity by soaking and sprouting them, and generally preparing vegetables more thoroughly.

BONUS: Why not use a natural multivitamin like Organic Liver as a daily, 100% natural and organic multivitamin - not synthetic, cheap, underused, poorly absorbed multivitamins.

It's a not so secret secret that the vitamin industry gets their vitamins from overseas - I'm sure you can guess where. They bid on the cheapest possible ingredients, ship them to Australia and repackage them.

We've seen incredible feedback from people who have made the switch from synthetic multivitamins to Organic Liver Multivitamins - especially in regards to their gut and skin health, hormone balance, metabolism, and iron status.
