Gut smarter

This seed-oil free granola recipe it’s loaded with protein, fibre, and healthy fats for a nourishing twist on festive flavours. Infused with warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of holiday magic, this crunchy granola is the perfect way to spread Christmas cheer. Whether as a thoughtful gift or a festive breakfast treat, it’s a flavorful and nutrient-packed way to celebrate the season!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic rolled oats
  • ¾ cup chopped nuts (I used a mixture of brazil nuts, hazelnuts and almonds)
  • ⅓ cup buckwheat kernels
  • ¼ cup Supergut Swiss Chocolate Protein
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil or coconut oil
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 160 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with baking paper. Set aside.
  2. To a large bowl, add all of the granola ingredients (besides the chocolate chips) and mix well to combine.
  3. Transfer the granola to the prepared baking tray and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes or until slightly golden (feel free to rotate the tray halfway to get an even browning).
  5. Leave to cool for 15 minutes (this is important to get the clusters of granola and not just a muesli consistency!).
  6. Sprinkle on the chocolate chips and mix through well.
  7. Transfer the granola to any jars, Tupperware or containers of choice!

Notes:

  • This granola can last in the cupboard for up to a month if airtight in a glass container or tupperware.
